Summer Top 10 in Decatur

Decatur is full of great programs or activities for the whole family!  We have compiled a list of our favorite things to do in Decatur during the hot summer months.  Did we include yours?



1.  Summer Reading Program at the Decatur Library

Read books, get prizes!  Open to any child with a Decatur Public Library card, or in the care of an adult with a DPL card.








2.Beat the Heat with a movie!  There are two great programs this summer at our local theaters:

Summer Kids Series at Carmike (Eevery Thursday at 10am, at both Hickory Point and the Strand.  You receive admission, popcorn, drink and a snack for $4)

  Tightwad Tuesdays at the Avon ($4.50 movies on Tuesdays)

3.  Saturday Farmers Market:

RCC or Oakland St.

Learn to swim, at Fairview swim lessons

Join Toddler Swim Time on Fridays July 5-Aug 9th from 9:30am-11:30am ($4.25 per person 2+)

Go to Family Swim Time on Thursday nights 7:15-9pm  & Saturday Mornings 9:30am-11:30am. ($4.25 per person 2+ or $12 for family of 4)





6.  Visit the Children’s Museum!

Come with Decatur IL Moms for Night at the Museum or Moddlers!

Join a summer camp!
