October 3: The Scream Haunted Adventure - Decatur

Friday and Saturdays Oct. 3 - Nov. 1 from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. plus 7 – 10 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 26. Tickets $9-$20. http://www.decaturscream.com/

Watch your back as you travel through over 14,000 square feet of fright including 30 horrifying scenes, double vortex tunnels, a grave crawl, and squeeze wall, built inside an empty warehouse inhabited by zombies, beasts, monsters, and roaming sinister characters.

Back by popular demand, the Haunted Warehouse Tour guides patrons through abandoned portions of the warehouse that are rumored to be haunted. Similar to the TV show, “Ghost Adventures,” this flashlight tour is a paranormal experience where a small group of explorers visits the creepy remains of a once buzzing cafeteria, kitchen, and locker room of the old Mueller warehouse.

October 17: Boo at the Zoo - Decatur

October 17-19 & 24-31, 5:30-8:00 p.m. (3:00-8:00 p.m. on weekends)

Admission $4.50 Collecting Treats, $3.50 No Treats (Under Age 2 – No Treats – Free)

Train  $2.50 Non-Members, $2.00 FOZ Members.

Carousel $2.00 Non-Members, $1.50 FOZ Members.

Celebrate a safe Halloween with fun for the entire family! Dress up or come as you are, as hundreds of Jack-o’-lanterns guide you through the spooky treat stations. Take a ride on the Fright Night Express and the Endangered Species Carousel.

October 17: Halloween Fun Days @ Overlook Adventure Mini Golf – Decatur

October 17-19 & 24-31, 4:00-9:00 pm

Enjoy Halloween Fun Days at Overlook Adventure Mini Golf! Kids in costume golf for free with a paid adult. Families of of 4 golf for $20. 

 

October 21: Decatur IL Mom’s Too Cute To Spook - Decatur

October 21, 5:00 – 7:30 pm, $3 for Children in Costume, $5 for Adults/any children not in costumes

Decatur IL Mom’s 4th Annual Too Cute To Spook costume party at the Children’s Museum of Illinois. Free Hot Papa Murphy’s Pizza. Monster Mash dance party by DSF Entertainment. Plus access to the entire Children’s Museum after hours!

October 24: Happy Halloween Costume Party – Decatur Area Arts Council, Decatur

October 24, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, $20 per person (5 and under with a parent are free; 6 and up can be dropped off)

A big, old-fashioned Halloween party! Dress up and come have a blast on the second and third floors of the Madden Arts Center. There will be Halloween arts activities in the Studio, movies and snacks in the Classroom, and games, a costume contest, prizes, music, and dancing on the third floor. Parents are free!

October 24: Sheer Terror Haunted House - Sullivan

October 24, 25, 31, and November 1 from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

Returning this October is Sullivan, Illinois’ newest and scariest haunted house.  Tour the Sheer Family manor October 24, 25, 31, and November 1 from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm.  There will also be a “Little TOTS” tour during Sullivan’s safe trick-or-treating hours 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. http://www.sheerterror.webs.com

October 24: The Haunted Halloween Bash – Mt. Zion

October 24, 8:00 pm – Midnight, $15.00/Advance or $18.00/at the door
The Haunted Halloween Bash!!!!! Featuring Rosetta Stone!! Costumes welcomed, appetizer bar and prizes for best costume and best couples costume

October 25: Halloween Hoopla @ Children’s Museum of Illinois, Decatur

$6 for general public     |     $1 for CMI members     |     Children under age 2 are free

Calling all ghosts and goblins! Visit our cobweb castle dressed in Halloween attire, or come as you are and enjoy the festivities. Roast s’mores by the bonfire, make a Halloween craft, collect treats and complete the scavenger hunt for a chance to win prizes!

October 26: Fall Harvest Festival @ Rock Springs - Decatur

Experience a brand-new version of this wonderful annual festival! There will be FREE crafts and fall-themed face painting.

For a fee of $3, participants can learn basic archery techniques and take aim at lifelike 3D targets.

Take a guided “Creepers of the Earth” trail walk through the pine forest to see costumed interpreters and hear legends about some of the creatures of the forest, ponds, and prairies. Register online for the “Creepers of the Earth” walk before September 24, for $3.50/person (6 and under are free), or purchase tickets for $4/person at the eventFor all ages.
