Have some fine while getting some exercise at the Decatur Civic Center’s Ice Skating Arena! They are open during school breaks and have good student rewards for bringing in your report card.

Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Special weekend activities take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday (times may vary). Closed major holidays. Admission is charged. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

First Christian Church Mosaic Cafe – off Monroe near Target
Visit the Mosaic Cafe at First Christian church M-F from 7am-11am. Grab coffee for you and watch your little ones play in this cute play area. There is a helicopter to climb in and fly, a twisty slide and some tunnels to crawl through!
We have an entire mall routine. We go to the play place, throw pennies in the fountain by the center stage, play at the VonMaur train table and end with either a Annie’s pretzel or ice cream from Baskin Robbins!

Rock Springs EcoCenter – Visit this fascinating and fun museum located inside Rock Springs Nature Center. Exhibits are designed to help you explore the natural history of Macon County, you will hear the sounds of native wildlife and learn how animals cope with surviving in our ever-changing environment. Other rooms have live animals to visit, native fish and amphibians from Illinois streams, lakes and rivers. There is also a birdwatching window located in the back of the center. Skiing on Saturdays & Sundays, January & February, 4 p.m. Cross country skiing for one hour can burn between 400-800 calories! This activity is a great way to observe wildlife and explore the outdoors. Sign up for this workshop to learn the basics of cross-country skiing. Fee $12, includes skis, boots, poles and one hour of instruction ($4 with your own skis). At least 4 inches of snow and reservations required.
Rock Springs Camps and Mini-Camps- There are camps every weekend at Rock Springs Nature Center! Check their website for details on upcoming events!
The Anne Lloyd Gallery, the crown jewel of the Madden Arts Center, hosts exhibits featuring fine local talent to outstanding regional artists and art from cultures around the world. There is a new exhibit almost every month offering an ever-changing array of media, styles and genre. Find information on the current exhibit as well as archives from the past. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
